CHAMPS is granted WASC accreditation!

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges announces the action taken by the Accrediting Commission for Schools granting CHAMPS a three-year term of accreditation, expiring on June 30, 2013.

The visiting team stated, in their report to the Commission,
"In summary, the school is poised for major successes in the future. CHAMPS commitment to its vision and the caring attention given to students by all staff will surely lead to an even more rigorous educational program tied to the arts with continued high student achievement. Through the leadership to the faculty and the staff there is a commitment to continually evovle and embrace self-examination as the process for a quality educational program for all students. "

5 CHAMPS STUDENTS ACCEPTED

Founded in 1935, the Tony Award-winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is among the oldest and largest professional non-profit theatres in the nation. Each year OSF presents an eight-and-a-half-month season of eleven plays in three theatres plus numerous ancillary activities, and undertakes an extensive theatre education program. Operating on a budget exceeding $26 million, OSF presents more than 780 performances annually with attendance of approximately 400,000. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is committed to including diverse people, ideas, cultures and traditions in all areas of our work within a high-caliber theatre environment.

The following CHAMPS students have been accepted for the 2010 summer program:
Nick Bell, Collin Bradley, Alexandra Shepperd, Rebecca Tessier,
and
Diante Singley (student counselor) .
